There’s a reason why we all love the sound of classic recordings whether its Rock or Pop, it’s because they used “real gear” when it was time to mix down and master songs. There’s definitely a depth and warmth that’s created by the tubes and natural saturation that occurs from using real gear. It’s why we use what we use.
Sure…. plug-ins are cool and inexpensive. We use them if and when needed to bring in a microscope on a mix if required. Otherwise, its a 95% analog mix with the other 5% using select plug-ins only if and when needed.
